Welcome

Our group conducts research both in the foundations of computer science (especially algorithms and complexity theory) and in computer science didactics, which gives us a very broad field of both research topics and methods.

In Algorithmics and Complexity Theory, we are particularly interested in questions that investigate the influence of additional information in various computational models, for example, when certain properties of a solution to be computed are known a priori.

In computer science didactics, our research questions revolve around sustainable computer science teaching. This includes, for example, how misconceptions about certain topics can be avoided or which topics particularly appeal to certain groups of students.

In addition, we lead teacher training in computer science at the secondary school level and offer a contact point for computer science teachers of all school levels with the Center for Computer Science Education.
